As part of this long-term environmental strategy, this year we’re celebrating six years of our partnership Eden: People + Planet. Eden develops high-integrity carbon projects that combine forest protection and reforestation to generate verified carbon credits while delivering substantial benefits for communities and biodiversity. Their approach ensures 40-year commitments to landscapes and communities, resulting in truly sustainable conservation at scale.
Contura’s monthly donations support Eden’s work on sustainable ecosystem restoration and have directly contributed to the planting of 173,933 trees, with current donations supporting carbon-eligible projects across Africa.
With our roots in Småland, a region in the heart of Sweden known for its lush forests, pastures and shimmering lakes, where it has always been an art to use natural resources sustainably and make the most of what we have, preserving the environment for future generations has always been a priority.
